Ex-ESPN Host Ryen Russillo Reveals Shooting His Shot At Meghan Markle But Never Worked Out

In a recent episode of “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” former ESPN host Ryen Russillo opened up about his failed attempt at pursuing Meghan Markle. Despite believing that she was “obtainable,” Russillo revealed that the now Duchess of Sussex turned him down.

Russillo recalled meeting Markle at a celebrity flag football game in February 2014. Although he didn’t make a move during the game, he later took a chance by sliding into her DMs.

“It was all of the [Sports Illustrated] swimsuit models. So, nobody was really paying any attention to Markle,” he claimed.

Russillo reached out to Markle, asking her to make an appearance on his sports program, “The Ryan Russillo Show,” to promote the upcoming season of the hit show, “Suits.”

“I was like, ‘That’s my lane. She’s probably doubting herself a little bit right now,’” Russillo, 49, continued. “She’s never been more obtainable.”

“It was a very soft sell,” he further explained. “It was, ‘Hey, I know the new season … is coming out if you ever want to come on the show to promote it.’ It was really professional.”

“It was ice cold,” the sports personality said of her response. “It was, ‘Oh, I don’t know anything about sports, but thanks for the offer.”

However, despite Russillo’s ulterior motive, Markle didn’t take the bait. His attempt to shoot his shot at the actress never worked out, leaving Russillo with a rejected proposition.

Unfortunately for Russillo, Markle didn’t take the bait. Despite his ulterior motive, his attempt to go out with her never worked out. It goes to show that even someone like Russillo, who believed Markle was within reach, can still face rejection.
