F1’s Social Media Record Broken by Lewis Hamilton’s Iconic Photo

When Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari was first revealed in February of last year, it was anticipated to be one of the most anticipated events, and the initial indications point to this being the case. A famous picture of him in front of Enzo Ferrari’s home broke a new social media record, and his appearance at Maranello caused a stir.

Hamilton posed next to a Ferrari F40, which is comparable to the one owned by Lando Norris and which was involved in a recent crash. He was wearing a white shirt, black tie, jacket, and overcoat. Although Ferrari also shared it on Instagram, Hamilton’s post was the one that went viral.

As of this writing, it has surpassed the previous record held by Hamilton himself with almost 4.9 million likes.

Knowing they would be teammates the following year, Hamilton and Charles Leclerc scheduled a playdate with their respective dogs, Roscoe and Leo, a few months after Hamilton confirmed his switch to Ferrari. An event-related Instagram post garnered 4.1 million likes.

Many have referred to Hamilton’s move to Ferrari as the greatest F1 driver move in history, and his remark about Maranello overshadowing a prior fan favorite event demonstrates just how significant it is.

Hamilton was greeted with warm arms by the Tifosi, perhaps of the most ardent Formula One supporters. A number of admirers gathered outside Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters shortly after the 40-year-old arrived to catch a sight of him.
