In Times Square, Ryan Garcia, Haney, and Lopez Will Share an Outdoor Card on May 2

On May 2, Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and Teofimo Lopez will square off in separate bouts in Times Square, bringing a huge boxing tripleheader to New York.

Ring Magazine’s “Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves” event, which will turn famous Times Square into a boxing arena, was announced on Friday by Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, which oversees the kingdom’s entertainment sector.

Garcia will face Rolando “Rolly” Romero in the main event of the trademark event. Haney will return to action at welterweight against Jose Ramirez, the former unified junior welterweight champion, in the co-main event.

To start the evening, Lopez will challenge Arnold Barboza Jr. for the junior welterweight titles held by the WBO and The Ring.

Will Ryan Garia redeem himself after failed drug test fiasco?

After a year-long suspension due to a failing drug test that rendered his 2024 decision victory against Haney a no-contest, Garcia (24-1, 1 NC) will make his boxing comeback. He will take on Romero (16-2), a hard-hitting opponent who has faced Isaac Cruz and Gervonta Davis and is hoping to pull off the upset.

Former undisputed lightweight champion Haney (31-0, 1 NC) will go up to welterweight and take on Ramirez (29-2). Haney will try to maintain his undefeated record against Ramirez, who he hasn’t faced since the Garcia bout in April of last year.

If Haney and Garcia prevail, a much-awaited rematch is scheduled later this year.

In the first match of the evening, Lopez (21-1) will challenge Barboza (32-0) for his titles. In his most recent bout, which took place in June, Lopez won by unanimous decision over Steve Claggett. After defeating Jack Catterall in February, Barboza is feeling very good. If Lopez prevails, his next fight might be a title unification bout against 140-pound champion Richardson Hitchins.

Pay-per-view will be used to broadcast the tripleheader. The specifics of how the event will be organized for fans who wish to attend are still unknown.
