Wearing Demi Moore‘s famous Striptease bikini, Rumer Willis has recreated history. A special photo shoot featured the 36-year-old actress wearing her mother’s jeweled two-piece.
Rumer wore the classic swimsuit—which Demi popularized in Striptease thirty years ago—with black high heels. During a series of positions, the blonde beauty, who chose not to wear makeup, also experimented with a pair of black sunglasses.
Now, Demi’s gold bikini will be up for auction next month, with a $5,000 starting price. Notable for wearing it in the 1996 film Striptease, which was controversial at the time, is the 62-year-old Hollywood actress.
In Striptease, Demi portrayed Erica, a former FBI agent and single mother who had resorted to stripping in order to pay for a custody dispute. With a record-breaking $12.5 million, the role helped Demi become the highest paid actress in the world.
Nevertheless, Demi, who had Rumer while married to actor Bruce Willis, encountered criticism for playing the part of an exotic dancer. In addition, the movie was a box office flop, failed to recover its production costs, and received a lot of bad reviews from critics.
However, Striptease is now regarded as a cult masterpiece, despite its unfavorable reaction at the time.
