Kevin Durant has opened up about his strained relationship with Russell Westbrook. Durant shared that he had hoped to use the All-star weekend as an opportunity to mend fences with Westbrook, but the presence of cameras prevented them from having a private conversation.
Unfortunately, the constant media attention and scrutiny at the All-star game made it difficult for Durant and Westbrook to have a candid conversation away from the cameras.
According to Durant;
“I wanted to ask Russell, ‘How’s your family doing, how you feel,’ like stuff that normal people talk about,” Durant recalled. “But there were so many cameras watching us. ‘What are they talking about, they are looking at each other, they not even say hi.’ It’s crazy, it was just making me sick.”
Durant wanted to make amends with Westbrook, but then he couldn’t stand the too many cameras during the game and had to back off from getting into the news over his beef with Westbrook.
