Being married to an NFL player might look like a dream from the outside. There is the money, the stadium suites, the game-day outfits, and the occasional camera shot that makes you feel like a celebrity.
But according to Allie Neuzil, wife of Atlanta Falcons center Ryan Neuzil, the job comes with one annoying little extra: dealing with people who think they know everything about your husband.
Allie recently took to TikTok to share her feelings about being an NFL WAG, short for wives and girlfriends of professional athletes. And she did not exactly arrive with a plate of cookies and a peaceful attitude.
During her Sunday video, Allie opened up about what she called her “WAG rage.” The frustration comes from seeing negative comments about Ryan online.
Apparently, watching strangers criticize your husband from behind a screen can turn an ordinary Sunday into a full-time exercise in self-control.
“I have a confession to make as a WAG, and that is that every game day I will get on Twitter and search my husband’s name and see what dumbass, idiot, worthless, stupid piece of s–t, unrespectable, fat, ugly, dumb losers are tweeting negatively about him,” Allie said.
“And I’m not allowed to respond to them. I should be allowed to respond to them but I’m not. But I digress.
“I look at them and then fully type an evil response and talk s–t about them … and then I just do nothing because of the rules by which I am bound. I want to know, is this normal? Probably not. But, I said what I said.”
Allie added in her caption, “No bc if ur ever unkind to my husband I will make it my mission to destroy you idgaf.”
Being an NFL WAG is not simply about looking fabulous in the stands.
Of course, nobody is saying fans must praise every player. Football criticism comes with the territory. But there is a difference between analyzing a bad performance and making personal attacks.
Allie’s TikTok rant has offered a glimpse into that side of the NFL lifestyle. Behind every player is someone who may feel every disappointing result just as deeply.
