When Charles Barkley criticized Indiana for wasting a game in which they led by almost double digits at one point in the fourth quarter, he couldn’t help but bring that up.
The Pacers threw the game away, Barkley insisted. Before a 12-1 run in the last few minutes turned the tide of the game and maybe the series around, they had a 10-point advantage earlier in the third quarter.
The former Suns player claimed that such pivotal moments demonstrated the difference between legitimate “superstars” and “good All-Star” players.
Chuck stated: “I thought you saw the difference between All-Star guys and really good players, and a superstar,”. “Shai brought this thing home. They’re like ‘Yo big fella, bring us home’ and I had no idea what the Pacers were doing on the offensive end.”
“They didn’t even run a play for him, they had other guys trying to make plays….”
“We can say all we want about Oklahoma City, but the Pacers blew this game…. This is going to hurt. This game going to hurt the Pacers cuz they had this game under control.”
The Pacers’ inability to get the ball to Pascal Siakam also perplexed Barkley.
