Steelers Respond to Mason Rudolph’s Trump Rally Appearance in Email to Supporters

The Pittsburgh Steelers are appearing to distance themselves from Mason Rudolph‘s political affiliations after the quarterback attended a rally for President Trump on Friday, sending an email to fans reminding them that the personal beliefs of current and former players do not represent the entire organization.

Rudolph, alongside teammate Miles Killebrew and former Steeler Rocky Bleier, spoke at the event for No. 45-47 near Pittsburgh, during which they presented the President with a customized team jersey.

According to Front Office Sports, their appearances upset some season ticket holders, prompting the team to address concerns about the situation.

The letter stated, as reported by Front Office Sports: “We understand that a recent rally in Pittsburgh has generated a range of reactions from our fan base,”

“Our alumni and current players make their own individual decisions that reflect their views, and they do not necessarily represent the view of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization. We appreciate your passion and your continued support of the team.”

Trump praised Rudolph during the event, calling him tall, attractive, and a strong passer.

He even speculated that the former Oklahoma State player would be the starting quarterback when the season begins, rather than Aaron Rodgers, who is still undecided about his NFL future and whether he intends to join the Steel City before retiring.

It’s worth mentioning that Trump secured victory in Pennsylvania in the 2024 presidential election, suggesting that many Steelers fans may not have opposed Rudolph’s choice.
