For the Chicago Sky and Angel Reese, the 2025 WNBA season has not been a simple one.

The Sky fell to 7-14 on the season after suffering a crushing 88-75 loss to the Minnesota Lynx, continuing a downward trajectory that has left supporters and observers wondering how the team will bounce back following the All-Star break.

Reese won’t be available for Chicago‘s upcoming game, which will further complicate matters. Due to a leg injury, the talented forward will not play in the Sky’s final game before the break against the Atlanta Dream and Brittney Griner on Wednesday.

Reese, who continues to be one of the league’s most dominant rebounders, has had a successful second season, but this most recent news dampens it.

She is shooting 44.6 percent from the field and scoring 14.0 points per game on average in 21 games. Her reputation as a relentless force on the glass is further enhanced by the fact that she leads the whole WNBA in rebounds per game (12.6).

Despite Chicago’s difficulties in the standings, she has been selected to the All-Star team for the second consecutive year due to her exceptional play. Reese will soon play for Napheesa Collier’s All-Star team on Saturday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis when they take on Caitlin Clark’s team.
