During a tough season for Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, she discussed her intense recovery experience and shared how she’s maintaining a positive outlook this year.

Some aspects of her rehabilitation are light-hearted; Clark mentioned to Glamour in a special interview that she enjoys rewatching Disney films, particularly The Parent Trap, as a way to unwind.

Other parts of her recovery are demanding, as she is reportedly exploring various innovative treatments, including red-light therapy, dry needling, and hyperbaric oxygen chambers, to assist her recovery from the recent groin injury that has kept her out of the last two games and WNBA All-Star weekend.

Caitlin Clark speaks about mental side of dealing with injuries

However, one of the most crucial parts of her rehabilitation focuses on her mental well-being. Clark, who has missed 12 games—including her team’s Commissioner’s Cup victory—and is currently experiencing a slump in her three-point shooting, has gone through ups and downs during what began as a promising MVP season.

She candidly shared how she’s learning to navigate all these challenges: “This is the first time I haven’t felt like a young body that can run around and sprint every day and just continue to do that,”. “Being a professional athlete, you really have to take care of both your body and your mind—it’s been a journey learning about that.”

“It makes me really intentional about what I want to accomplish and is a good reset if I’m feeling nervous or anxious about the game, to kind of wipe that away,”

Clark mentioned that she regularly consults with a sports psychologist from the Fever and that she has a long-standing routine of journaling before games—practices that undoubtedly support her mental stability.

With the Fever positioned at 12-12 as they enter a vital stretch in the second half of the WNBA season, the team will need Clark to be at her peak performance and in good health moving forward. It’s clear that Clark is in need of this as well.
