Paul Pierce‘s audacious declaration that he is the greatest pure scorer in NBA history was met with negative feedback on social media. Even his NBA teammates were a threat to him. One former NBA All-Star resisted, refusing to believe Pierce’s claims.
Pierce offered his thoughts on Kevin Durant’s standing as one of the greatest NBA scorers last week. Without hesitation, he entered the conversation during his speech.
Pierce stated on Speak on FS1: “I’m probably the best pure scorer ever in the history of the NBA,”. “I was pretty equipped when I think about it. I need to be in this conversation.”
However, Pierce didn’t stop there. He continued by listing the NBA’s all-time top scorers and describing how he was even better. He said:
“I’m a better three-point shooter than Jordan. One thing I got better than KD, I was a better post-up player,”
Teague vehemently disputes Paul Pierce’s assertion that he is among the greatest small forwards the game has ever seen, despite his respect for Pierce. Regarding Pierce’s status as the best pure scorer: “He get high now,” . “Give me [Carmelo Anthony] over Paul Pierce.”
Teague’s assessment was not unique. Anthony was named a purer scorer than Pierce by the entire crew, who sided with the New York Knicks legend. Pierce simply doesn’t compare to some of the more well-known players in the sport, but that doesn’t mean they think he’s not good enough.
