Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have called it quits after almost 10 years together. They seemed like such a solid couple, but I guess even Hollywood romances can fizzle out.
Sources close to the couple confirmed the breakup, but there’s been no word yet on what exactly went wrong. Some fans are speculating that their busy schedules got in the way, while others think maybe they just grew apart.
The pair began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019, before welcoming their four-year-old daughter Daisy Dove into the world.
After the couple were trailed by rumors about the state of their relationship, it was widely reported Wednesday that they have gone their separate ways.
Pouring fuel on the fire, Orlando, 48, went alone to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s star-studded wedding in Venice last Friday, with Katy in Australia on tour.
Orlando shared a cryptic Instagram post about ‘loneliness’ and ‘darkness’ this week, while Katy was seen breaking down in tears onstage at her last Australian show.
Now, representatives for the pair have confirmed to DailyMail.com that ‘Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.’
Last week, a source told Us Weekly: ‘Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,’ while also adding that the separation has been ‘not contentious’ thus far.
‘Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.’
It’s always sad to see a long-term relationship come to an end, but hey, life goes on! We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for Katy and Orlando. But for now, they’re just focused on co-parenting.
