Kyrie Irving has spilled the tea on why Kevin Durant wasn’t fully committed to the Brooklyn Nets and this has sparked a lot of conversations.
Kyrie dropped the bombshell when he appeared on the “Mind the Game” podcast alongside LeBron James and Steve Nash.
During the discussion with James and Nash, Durant said, “It felt like we were committed but everybody else wasn’t.” Recently, during a live stream, Irving watched Durant’s episode of the “Mind the Game” podcast. Irving reveals the true reason behind Durant’s comment.
“Nah…when he said this…I was like…we’re all committed…but not everybody’s gonna do what you want them to do…Steve wasn’t even in the play in! But this your mans…You want Steve to coach?…Fine…” Irving said.
Kyrie Irving played for the Brooklyn Nets for four seasons. On February 4, 2023, he requested a trade after contract negotiations did not meet his expectations. During a recent live stream, Irving mentioned that he had limited interaction with the Nets’ front office despite having signed a maximum contract with the team.
“Brooklyn wasn’t f***ing with me like that… the Nets didn’t want me, they wanted Kevin Durant,” Irving said.
We can’t blame Kevin Durant for wanting to make sure everyone on the team was committed. It’s a teamwork and commitment is expected!
