Can we just take a moment to appreciate how awesome Kay Adams was for rocking a Henry Rowengartner jersey to throw out the first pitch at the Cleveland Guardians and Chicago Cubs game?
Kay definitely knows how to make a statement and have some fun while doing it. And let’s be real, that jersey was a classic choice.
The 39-year-old Kay Adams had the honors of throwing the first pitch to Clark, the iconic Cubs mascot, before their showdown with the Guardians. Adams showed up to the event with a jersey of Henry Rowengartner, the fictional character played by Thomas Ian Nicholas in the 1993 hit film, “Rookie of the Year.”
The pitch itself was way outside of the batter’s box, but Clark managed to corral it before sharing a hug with the FanDuel TV sportscaster.
The Cubs defeated the Guardians 5-4 to secure the series win. They’ll go for the sweep on Thursday at 8:05 p.m. EST, with Cade Horton on the mound against Luis L. Ortiz.
Hats off to Kay Adams for bringing some nostalgia to the ballpark and getting fans excited for the game!
