Stephanie Carlquist Arrested For Putting Salt In Engine Of Ex-boyfriend’s Car

Apparently, this Kentucky woman named Stephanie Carlquist got arrested for pulling a wild one on her ex-boyfriend by putting salt and glitters in the air conditioner and engine of his car. Yes, you heard that right – salt and glitters! Talk about a salty breakup, am I right?

Now, I don’t condone this kind of behavior, but you’ve got to admit, that’s pretty creative. I mean, who even thinks of putting glitters in a car engine? Stephanie definitely gets points for originality, that’s for sure.

In a criminal complaint, the Richmond Police Department says Stephanie Carlquist totaled her ex-boyfriend’s car after the couple got into an argument in early July.

The complaint says Carlquist poured salt into the engine, glitter in the AC vent, slashed a tire, cracked the windshield, cracked the rear-view mirror and shattered the car’s radio screen.

Carlquist’s ex-boyfriend told police that she slashed the one tire on July 6, but then did the rest of the damage after an argument on July 15.

After the car was damaged, a tow company took the car to a Goodyear in Richmond, where the car was deemed totaled after the estimated cost of damages added up to $12,464.96.

However, police say Carlquist told the tow truck driver about damaging the car when they arrived to take it to Goodyear. The tow truck driver then called the victim’s mom to tell her about Carlquist’s admission.

After learning about the admission, Carlquist allegedly messaged her ex-boyfriend on Instagram. She told him she was stressed out because of her pregnancy and that she was sorry about the damage.

Police say when they interviewed Carlquist, she allegedly admitted to the glitter in the air vents and the damage to the windshield, but said he was “overdue” for the oil, motor and all other damage.

Carlquist is being held in the Madison County Detention Center on a $12,000 bond. She is charged with felony criminal mischief.

But, here’s the lesson we can all learn from this – don’t mess with your ex’s car, folks. It may seem like a funny idea at the time, but it’s definitely not worth getting arrested over. Just keep it classy and move on with your life after breakup!
