The Seventh-Ever WNBA Player to Reach the Playoff Milestone Is A’Ja Wilson

What is A’ja Wilson incapable of? In the Aces’ series against the Fever in the semifinals on Sunday, the four-time WNBA MVP added yet another outstanding accomplishment to her already impressive resume. Only six other WNBA players have ever achieved Wilson’s milestone of scoring her 1,000th playoff point, which she did on Sunday.

Diana Taurasi (1,486), DeWanna Bonner (1,229), Candace Parker (1,149), Tamika Catchings (1,141), Maya Moore (1,077), and Breanna Stewart (1,006) are the six players who have previously reached this milestone. Given that Stewart’s Liberty were ousted in the first round, Wilson is probably going to go up in the rankings this postseason. Wilson, who is in her eighth season, was added to this exclusive list on Sunday.

Wilson’s three-pointer in the first quarter was her historic attempt to attain the milestone. She had 991 career postseason points going into the game, but she broke that total with 10 points in the first quarter.

In 2025, Wilson had the highest average points (23.4) in the league. With 23.7 points per game so far in the playoffs, she also leads in average points. The Aces will guarantee their place in the WNBA Finals with a victory on Sunday.
