An excerpt from Ayesha Curry‘s August conversation with the Call Her Daddy Podcast has started making the rounds online. Ayesha discloses in the episode that she had a different life plan before to getting married to NBA player Stephen Curry.
She stated: “I didn’t want kids…I didn’t wanna get married,” “I thought I was gonna be a career girl and that’s it.”
“I’d never felt any differently than, like, this is who I wanna spend the rest of my life with. And so we kinda just dove in.”
“It’s so interesting. I spent my entire life, like, trying to work towards something, and then it kind of just disappeared, and I didn’t think twice about it.” That said, shortly after having Riley, she decided it was time to set goals for herself: “I have goals for myself. Like, this doesn’t feel right. I love being a mom, but I love doing other things too.”

After Ayesha and her family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, the two first connected as adolescents in a youth group. Years later, in Los Angeles, they would reunite, and by 2008, they were formally dating. Steph was going to the NBA at the moment, while Ayesha was starting her acting career. The couple got married and started a family by 2011.
