Michael Beasley Knocks Out Delonte West in Boxing Match

Michael Beasley defeated Delonte West by first-round technical knockout at 1:58 in a heavyweight boxing exhibition Friday night at Brand Risk 16.

The bout, held at the Brand Risk Warehouse and promoted by streamer Adin Ross, featured two former NBA players with a history of on-court clashes. Beasley, listed at 6-foot-9 or 6-foot-10, used his significant size and reach advantage over the 6-foot-3 West to end the fight quickly. Official results from MMA Fighting confirmed the stoppage.

Beasley, 37, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft by the Miami Heat and later played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, among other stops. West, 43, was selected 24th overall by the Boston Celtics in 2004 and also suited up for the Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers (alongside LeBron James) and Dallas Mavericks.

The matchup drew interest because of past competitive run-ins between the two during their NBA careers. West had no previous professional fighting experience. Beasley, by contrast, competed earlier this year on a Brand Risk card, losing by first-round rear-naked choke to Lance Stephenson in an MMA bout at Brand Risk 14 in May.

Clips of the finish spread rapidly on social media, including a widely viewed post from @FearedBuck showing Beasley landing the decisive punches. The bout was one of several celebrity and influencer matchups on the card, which also featured names such as Deshae Frost, YK Osiris, Jack Doherty and others under the Brand Risk Promotions banner.

West has publicly discussed personal challenges, including battles with addiction and homelessness, in the years after his NBA career ended in 2012. He entered the fight promoting business opportunities tied to the event on social media.

Beasley’s win provided a quick result after his prior setback against Stephenson. No detailed official description of the sequence beyond the time of the stoppage and the size disparity was immediately available from results pages.
