This offseason, the “will he, won’t he” intrigue surrounding a possible Giannis Antetokounmpo trade request has been the biggest topic in Milwaukee and among the biggest in the NBA.
Antetokounmpo honestly contemplated leaving Milwaukee for the first time in his career following yet another disappointing playoff exit, but he decided to stay with the Bucks for one more season to see whether the roster adjustments would get him closer to contending for another championship. The Bucks signing Giannis to a new one-year contract with his brother Thanasis was the first official indication that he will return for the 2025–26 campaign.
According to Shams Charania, they took things a step further on Monday by adding a third Antetokounmpo and signing Alex to a two-way contract. Three siblings will be on the same squad for the first time in NBA history.

Alex, who played for the Bucks’ G League club, the Wisconsin Herd, in 2022–24, joins Thanasis, who has long been paired with Giannis on the team. The Bucks are making a noticeable attempt to make Giannis feel at home and content in Milwaukee because the Greek star values family greatly and will now spend the majority of the season with two of his siblings.
