On Sunday in Los Angeles, the Lakers defeated the Warriors in preseason play. Jarred Vanderbilt and Dalton Knecht started since LeBron James was sidelined due to injury and Luka Doncic was taking it easy. The Lakers shot 35 free throws, giving them a significant advantage at the charity stripe even without their two best players in the roster.
Conversely, the Warriors only made eight shots. Even though the Warriors made 43 three-pointers and the Lakers only made 27 long-range tries, Draymond Green took issue with the free throw discrepancy throughout the game.
Midway through the third quarter, Green lost it and told the refs that Jake LaRavia had committed a foul after driving to the hoop and receiving a whistle.

Green could be heard shouting, “19 free throws to zero,” when Laravia was on the line. Luka and LeBron James are benched.
In reality, the Warriors had made two free throws earlier in the quarter, but sometimes exaggeration is necessary to make a point. Additionally, in their last preseason game on October 5, the Lakers made six more free throws than the Warriors.
The Lakers made the third-most free throw attempts in the league the previous season. 13th place went to the Warriors.
