Kansas is already dealing with a potentially troublesome issue just three games into their season. Due to a hamstring injury, Jayhawks guard Darryn Peterson will miss at least Kansas’s game against Princeton on Saturday, according to coach Bill Self on Friday via the AP’s Dave Skretta.
Self-stated:
“For whatever reason (the hamstring is) still sore and (we are) trying to figure it out,”
“As long as it’s still this sore, he says, and limits him at all, there’s no reason to put him out there yet. So that’s where we’re at.”
The Jayhawks did not think Peterson’s injury would have a lasting impact, Self continued.
One of the most talked-about prospects of the previous class, Peterson made his debut against Green Bay on November 3 with 21 points. Before missing Kansas’ victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday, he contributed 22 points in a loss last Friday.
