Carmelo Anthony and His Ex la la Attend Son Kiyan’s Match

Today at MGM Arena, the Syracuse Orange, headed by Kiyan Anthony, faced the Houston Cougars in their fifth game of the 2025–26 NCAA season. But when two well-known faces appeared in the front row to cheer on the standout freshman, all eyes went to courtside.

On Monday night, Carmelo Anthony and his ex-wife La La Anthony were seen living together to support their son, Kiyan, a freshman at Syracuse, as he led his team. The timing of the two parents supporting their son couldn’t have been more perfect as the Orange men suffered their first defeat of the year.

Only a few hours prior, Jordan Brand Basketball revealed its NIL Class of 2025. Kiyan, along with Cameron and Cayden Boozer and Sarah Strong of UConn, headlined the newest class of signees. Currently ranked No. 98 in the On3 NIL 100 and No. 25 among all college basketball players, Kiyan Anthony has a $1.1 million On3 NIL valuation. The young star was manifesting precisely this, therefore it’s safe to say that it’s a dream come true.

Many young basketball players may feel overwhelmed by the demands of having a father who has achieved success in the sport. That isn’t the case with Kiyan, though, as the 6-foot-6 freshman guard discussed how he handles the pressure that comes with the expectation in a recent interview on the Field of 68.
