Shae Cornette was prepared for Tuesday’s First Take program, anticipating a typical interview, but she became a little perplexed. As soon as the ESPN host sat down with WWE star Dominik Mysterio, she recognized she had entered a full-fledged wrestling drama.
Following Molly Qerim’s departure in October, Cornette assumed the role of host and has performed admirably. She was also commended by Stephen A. Smith, who stated:
“Hosting First Take is no easy assignment. It requires confidence, toughness, and real sports insight and Shae brings all of that and more,”
However, Tuesday presented a fresh obstacle. Cornette found herself enmeshed in WWE-style drama when Mysterio appeared on the show to talk about the most recent Raw episode and his on-screen altercation with his father, Rey Mysterio.
From the beginning, Mysterio remained true to himself. On Raw, he made a joke about Rey kicking him, saying:
“Who kicks their child like this? I should have called the police. That’s abuse.”

“Oh my,” Cornette exclaimed, looking surprised and unsure of how to respond to the situation.
Fans of WWE immediately noticed it. Many claimed to have noticed that Cornette didn’t think Mysterio would follow the plot.
