Jaylen Brown didn’t hold back after the Celtics’ gut-wrenching 105-103 loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday, blasting referees for a crucial late non-call. The Boston star erupted over what he called a “blown call” in the final seconds, saying it directly cost his team the game.
With the Celtics trailing by one and with under a minute left, Brown drove hard to the rim and appeared to be tripped by Keyonte George. No whistle came. The Jazz scooped up the loose ball, scored, and sealed the win.
Brown’s frustration boiled over as he told reporters, “Man, y’all gonna get me fined,” before ripping into the officiating crew.
Jaylen Brown goes off:
“Man y’all gonna get me fined cause you can’t have a mistake like that, as an official at that point in the game. It’s 4th quarter, it’s a minute left in the game or less, the whole staff blows the fucking call, you know what I mean? Costs us a game. Like… https://t.co/WNXcaMYHg0 pic.twitter.com/hGhvhHvR4I

Referee Kevin Scott later explained the call, saying both players lost footing simultaneously. That explanation did little to calm Celtics fans, who flooded social media with replays and outrage.
For Boston, it was another late-game collapse in a season filled with near-misses. For Brown, it was personal. “We deserved a fair shot,” he said.
Whether or not the NBA fines him, Brown’s message was clear: the Celtics won’t stay silent when they feel shortchanged.
