Nico Harrison is leaving Dallas.
In an interview with Brian Windhorst on The Hoop Collective on Monday, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon discussed his thoughts on a possible Harrison firing timeline months after Dallas’ historic acquisition for Luka Doncic, which changed the organization. Harrison might be fired sooner rather than later, according to MacMahon, given how badly the Mavericks’ 2025 campaign is presently going. He stated:
“There’s a whole lot of things that ain’t good with the Mavericks. And hey, at this point, I believe it is a matter of when, not if, Nico Harrison will be fired,”
“There is a very, very strong likelihood that it will be mid-season.
“Maybe they can get things turned around, maybe his seat can go from sizzling to more normal temperature, but I always say every time I think that they’ve hit rock bottom, they find a way to drill deeper.”

Despite winning on defense, the Mavericks are currently 3-7 and have one of the worst offenses in the league.
Cooper Flagg, the current No. 1 pick, has been playing out of position at point guard due to injuries for the majority of the highly anticipated beginning of his NBA career. The Duke product is shooting just 40.3% from the field and 27% from beyond the arc, and it seems like the Mavs aren’t getting the most out of him.
Well now it has come true and Nico is leaving Mavericks.
