Draymond Green Quits on His Team and Leave Court After Argument With Steve Kerr

It seems that Draymond Green‘s inability to keep out of his own way extends to games where his son is present in the audience to celebrate his birthday.

In the Golden State Warriors’ 120-97 victory over the Orlando Magic, the entire Chase Center home crowd serenaded Draymond Green Jr., better known as DJ, with an enthusiastic rendition of “Happy Birthday” to celebrate his ninth birthday. It was supposed to be a sweet and heartwarming night for father and son, but his father had to ruin the good vibes.

Draymond was beaming from ear to ear and applauding with the rest of Dub Nation, but it was an unpleasant moment for a team attempting to make its place in the crowded Western Conference, ruining all the positive sensations DJ had felt earlier in the game.

Draymond Green decided to head to the locker room, according to Steve Kerr, following a furious altercation between the two during an early third-quarter stoppage. He wasn’t dispatched there. Kerr stated he wouldn’t have gone back to Green, but Green did return to the bench for the fourth quarter.

However, Kerr made it obvious that there was no way the former Defensive Player of the Year would return to the game, even after Green—who has the second-highest number of ejections ever, behind only Rasheed Wallace for that questionable distinction—returned to the bench in the fourth quarter.

For DJ, the situation is depressing.
