Emergency dispatch audio released Thursday reveals that the woman involved in the arrest of former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore told police he attacked her and had been stalking her for months.
The audio, obtained and published by TMZ, sheds new light on the chaotic sequence of events Wednesday that began with Moore’s termination for an “inappropriate relationship” and ended with his booking into the Washtenaw County Jail.
According to the dispatch recording, the 911 call was placed at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday from an Ann Arbor residence. In the audio, dispatchers relay that a female caller claimed Moore “attacked her” and further alleged that the coach “stalked her for months” leading up to the incident.
The residence where the call originated belongs to a Michigan football staff member, identified in multiple reports as Paige Shiver, Moore’s executive assistant.
The release of the audio comes less than 24 hours after the University of Michigan announced Moore’s firing with cause. Athletic Director Warde Manuel stated that an internal investigation uncovered “credible evidence” of an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, which constituted a clear violation of university policy.
Shortly after the firing was made public, officers from the Pittsfield Township Police Department responded to the residence. Police confirmed they took a 39-year-old male into custody following an investigation into an alleged assault but did not name the victim.
Moore remains held at the Washtenaw County Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
The university has maintained “zero tolerance” for the conduct described in their investigation but has not commented on the criminal allegations. Neither Moore nor Shiver has issued a public statement regarding the dispatch audio or the specific nature of the allegations.
Moore, who took over the program following Jim Harbaugh’s departure in early 2024, had just completed his first full season as head coach.
