Police had to storm Iman Shumpert‘s home after his attempts to drag influencer Joanna Donnejour out of his house failed.
Iman Shumpert probably thought he’d seen wild things in the NBA, playoff chaos, locker room drama, but absolutely nothing prepared him for police storming his house because an influencer refused to leave his home like it was an Airbnb with late checkout.
According to TMZ Sports, cops responded to a call for a verbal dispute at Shumpert‘s residence in Atlanta at around 4:37am on Wednesday November 26 before being dispatched to the property.
When they arrived, it is believed that officers observed the former New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers guard, 35, placing a suitcase outside his home. He told them that he wanted the woman, who has been named as influencer Joanna Donnejour, to leave several times.
Donnejour then told officers that they had an argument in Shumpert’s room about him communicating with another woman, all while a separate female was present at the time.
She then went on to alleged that he removed her from the room by ‘dragging her by her wrist and foot toward the stairs’ before she ordered a ride to take her off the property. Donnejour told cops that she wanted to press charges after alleging that Shumpert ‘hit her’.
The other woman at the scene also spoke with police, instead claiming that Shumpert twice asked Donnejour to leave the room during their verbal clash before grabbing her ‘by the wrist to escort her out’ in a way that was not in an ‘aggressive manner.’
Fortunately, there was no visible injuries and no charges filed according to the police.
In bodycam footage obtained by TMZ, she is heard telling Shumpert ‘see you in court – and on Instagram in the morning.’
The 2016 NBA Champion is quoted as saying in a statement: ‘Last week, I had friends over and a visitor at my residence was politely asked to leave several times after I witnessed her damaging personal property.
‘The police were called, invited inside and they spoke with multiple people who saw what happened. After assessing the situation, the police instructed her to leave repeatedly. She refused to vacate the property after being asked to leave multiple times and only after the officers escorted her outside did she eventually depart.
‘This matter was quickly closed that night by the police after they did their investigation.’
In the end, police left. Joanna left. And Shumpert probably called his security system company and said, “I need the influencer-proof package. Yes, the premium one.”
