Amid the fallout from his firing and arrest, former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore faces fresh scrutiny over alleged Instagram messages to OnlyFans influencer Mia Sorety during the Wolverines’ 2024 national championship game, including an invitation to the team hotel in Houston for what she insists was an innocent gathering to “talk, take pictures and meet the players.”
Sorety, a 26-year-old self-described Wolverines superfan with 1.7 million Instagram followers, shared details and screenshots with TMZ and other outlets, pushing back against salacious rumors while confirming Moore’s persistent outreach. “It was always friendly, never anything nefarious,” she emphasized in interviews, denying any propositions for group encounters or favors in exchange for tickets.
Championship Game Messages
Sorety claimed Moore, then Michigan’s offensive coordinator, began “sliding into” her DMs around the time of the Wolverines’ 34-13 victory over Washington in the College Football Playoff national championship on Jan. 8, 2024, at NRG Stadium in Houston. She told Outkick that Moore messaged her during the game, seeking “after-game fun” — a phrase she clarified meant nothing explicit. Sorety speculated the coach’s flirty tone stemmed from his excitement over the win, which capped an undefeated season under then-head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Their exchanges reportedly continued, with Moore allegedly offering first-class flights multiple times “just for a hug,” according to Sorety’s accounts.
She declined broader invitations, citing her financial independence: “I’m already rich and can buy my own tickets.”
Post-Scandal Communications
The story resurfaced amid Moore’s recent downfall. After his Dec. 10th firing “for cause” and arrest on charges of third-degree home invasion, misdemeanor stalking, and breaking and entering, stemming from an alleged affair with executive assistant Paige Shiver, Moore reportedly DM’d Sorety following his Friday release on $25,000 bond. In the screenshot, he expressed shock at her public comments, accusing her of “attacking” him during his crisis and noting his focus on his “relationship with God.” Sorety replied she harbored no ill will, only seeking to “clear the air,” and wished him well.
The Broader Ordeal
Moore’s troubles trace to an internal probe revealing his relationship with Shiver, daughter of former Bears scout Jeff Shiver, including allegations of pregnancy, abortion pressure and a salary hike as hush money. Court docs detail him bursting into her apartment, threatening suicide after she exposed their relationship and got him fired.
Neither Moore nor university officials have commented on Sorety’s latest claims.
