In a celebration gone awry on Sunday, Patriots coach Mike Vrabel paid the price by leaving with a bleeding lip after being clipped by one of his own players.
Defensive tackle Milton Williams rushed to the sidelines to give his head coach a hug after a pivotal moment toward the conclusion of the Patriots’ 16-3 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. However, he unintentionally hit him in the face with his helmet, drawing blood.

Vrabel appeared pleased amid the pandemonium of passion physically spilling over as cameras captured him wiping away the crimson in what should have been a moment of pure joy.
In order to secure the Patriots’ first postseason victory since 2018, Williams had just recorded what was effectively a game-ending sack of Justin Herbert coming out of the two-minute warning. Emotions were running high on the sidelines, and Vrabel’s lip suffered the price!
The coach remained motionless as trainers examined him, dismissing it as insignificant.
