Teyana Taylor Sobs and Curses Live on Stage in Wild Speech

During her Golden Globe acceptance speech on Sunday, Teyana Taylor sobbed and cursed in real time. For her performance in the movie One Battle After Another, the actress won the first prize of the evening.

At the 83rd annual presentation on Sunday night, Teyana, 35, won her first Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She was clearly taken aback by the accolade and started crying as soon as presenters Jennifer Garner and Amanda Seyfried said her name.

The All’s Fair actress acknowledged in her speech that she was almost unprepared because she didn’t anticipate winning. After then, she read her speech aloud from a piece of paper while crying. The TV personality was once bleeped for using profanity when remarking on how heavy her award was in her arms.

“Oh my God, this s— is heavy,”

“Oh my God, I almost didn’t even write a speech because I didn’t think I would get this,”

“Oh my babies! My babies are upstairs watching, y’all better be off those damn phones and watching me right now.”

“To Paul ‘Let ‘Em Cook’ Thomas Anderson, thank you for your vision, your trust, and your brilliance. My gratitude is endless. I love you, we love you, and thank you so much for holding space for me and our entire cast.”

The dancer and actress then praised Paul Thomas Anderson, the director, writer, and co-producer of One Battle After Another, as well as her cast for “every lesson, every test, and every blessing.”
