Tiffany Burress, the wife of former New York Giants player Plaxico Burress, declared on Tuesday that she would run as a Republican for a congressional seat in North Jersey that has traditionally been held by Democrats.
Tiffany Burress contrasted her experience in the private sector with Rep. Nellie Pou’s public office career as she announced her candidacy on Tuesday.
Her husband concluded his Giants career with 4,086 receiving yards and famously grabbed the game-winning touchdown in the 2008 Super Bowl to end the New England Patriots‘ 2007 perfect regular season.
Tiffany Burress is a native of Pittsburgh, a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation committee, one of Bergen County’s “top attorneys,” and a former NCAA athlete at Penn State University in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
She chastised Pou in her statement for the number of “doors” that had “been opened” for her. Pou won the seat of Bill Pascrell Jr. in 2024 after the Democrat passed away in office at the age of 87, just months before the election.
