Love is cute on Instagram, but real love? That shows up at hospital appointments. Karrueche Tran is opening up about why she stayed by Deion Sanders during his cancer battle. And let’s just say, this wasn’t a “likes and filters” type of situation.

According to Tran, Deion actually gave her an out.

An exit ramp, a polite “you don’t have to do this.” A “this might get heavy” warning.

And she said, no thanks, I’ll stay! Because apparently she’s not built to disappear when things get uncomfortable.

Now let’s pause.

In today’s world, people leave relationships over slow text replies, over vibes, over “I need to focus on myself.” So staying through a cancer diagnosis? That’s grown-up energy.

In a new video shared on the coach’s Instagram, Tran revealed that Sanders gave her an out during his illness.

“This man told me, ‘You don’t have to stay. You don’t have to deal with it,'” she said.

Coach Prime, who has described Tran as a “good woman” and “good person,” also admitted he gave her an “out.”

“You didn’t sign up for this,” Sanders recalled thinking. “I would not be upset … if you checked out.”

But Tran, 37, said that she’s “not the type of person” to leave under challenging circumstances.

“If I [had] dipped, I would’ve taken the easy way out,” Tran said. “It was hard, it was difficult mentally. … But we made it work.”

It’s easy to be around when someone is winning trophies and making headlines. It’s harder when the hospital becomes the main character.

Tran made it clear she wasn’t going to bounce just because life got messy. That’s loyalty without a press conference.

Now, let’s not act like it’s some fairytale movie. Health battles are stressful, emotional, and draining. It’s not candlelight dinners and matching outfits. It’s real life.

But that’s kind of the point.

She didn’t stay for the highlight reel, she stayed for the behind-the-scenes.

And in a culture where people screenshot everything, that kind of quiet commitment feels rare.

Of course, the internet had opinions. Some called it admirable, some called it expected, but at the end of the day, her reasoning was simple.

When you love someone, you don’t leave when things get hard.
