When Stephen A. Smith starts talking, you already know it’s not going to be quiet. Add Donald Trump to the mix, and suddenly it’s less “sports debate” and more “grab your popcorn.”
So here’s what happened.
Stephen A. caught wind of Trump’s latest post over Robert Mueller’s death, and let’s just say, he was not impressed. Not even a little bit.
‘Robert Mueller just died,’ Trump wrote after the passing of the former FBI Director and special counsel, who led the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election. ‘Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!’
Trump’s hatred of Mueller stems from the two-year investigation the President famously dismissed as a ‘witch hunt.’ Mueller’s team found Russia interfered in the 2016 election on Trump’s behalf, and although Trump was never charged with collusion, he was never exonerated either.
Smith had to jump in and fired back at Donald Trump over the post.
‘See……this is the B.S. I’m talking about,’ Smith wrote on X. ‘This is a disgusting thing coming from our Commander In Chief — especially about a VETERAN and PURPLE HEART recipient. #DamnShameful!’
‘What the f*** is wrong with y’all? This is some straight bulls***! It’s gotta stop,’ Smith fumed. ‘This is not what America is supposed to be about.
‘We, as American citizens, are not supposed to be treated this way. And the GOP has their fingerprints all over it because they’ve allowed the president to get away with it.’
Smith claimed that ‘Teflon Don’ is risking the future of the Republican Party and that Christmas has arrived early for their rivals, the Democrats.
‘Do you know why it’s easy to get at the President of the United States right now, to point the finger of blame at him? Because he is f***ing up, that’s why,’ Smith said on his SiriusXM radio show.
‘Somebody has to say it… he’s messing up so badly that the Republican Party is in a world of trouble. Somebody better wake them up real quick.’
So now we wait for the next response, the next take, the next viral moment, because if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s this: when Stephen A. Smith has something to say, it’s never going to be boring.
