Puka Nacua Explains Why Hit Bit a Woman on New Year’s Eve

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is denying allegations that he bit a woman during a group outing on New Year’s Eve 2025 and made an antisemitic comment, calling the claims a “shakedown attempt” after the woman demanded millions of dollars, his attorney said Tuesday.

The woman, whose name was not released in court documents, filed for a temporary restraining order against the 24-year-old Nacua in Los Angeles Superior Court. She alleged the incidents began during dinner in Century City on Dec. 31, 2025, when Nacua said, “f*** all the Jews,” according to the filing obtained by TMZ. The comment distressed her and marked the start of what she described as an “escalating course of rude or vulgar, threatening, violent and harassing conduct,” the documents state.

Later that night in a Sprinter van, Nacua became “touchy-feely” and allegedly bit the woman’s girlfriend on the thumb so hard she screamed in pain, the filing said. He then bit the woman on her left shoulder, breaking the skin and leaving a circular imprint of his teeth, she claimed. The woman included a photo of the alleged injury with her restraining order application.

She reported the matter to police the next day, Jan. 1, and filed an incident report.

A judge denied the woman’s request for a temporary restraining order at least for now. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for April 14.

Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, said the allegations are “complete nonsense.” He told TMZ that sober witnesses who were present never heard Nacua make the antisemitic remark. McCathern described the biting as “horseplay” during a night of partying that left only a temporary mark, not a serious injury.

“The whole claim is nothing more than a shakedown attempt,” McCathern said. “And he says the woman has asked for millions.”

The woman also alleged in the filing that during a March mediation conference involving attorneys and a crisis public relations team, Nacua’s side threatened to contact TMZ and other media outlets with false or exaggerated statements about the Dec. 31 events.

Nacua, a standout receiver who helped lead the Rams to the Super Bowl in recent seasons, has not commented publicly on the allegations beyond his attorney’s statements. He previously apologized in December 2025 for making an antisemitic gesture during a livestream.

No criminal charges have been filed against Nacua. The Rams organization had no immediate comment Tuesday.
