Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua took to social media to criticize NFL officials shortly after his team’s heartbreaking 38-37 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, marking the second time this week he has publicly questioned referee decisions.
Nacua posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Can you say i was wrong. Appreciate you stripes for your contribution. Lol.” The message appeared to reference his earlier comments about officials and sarcastically thanked them — “stripes” being a common term for referees due to their uniforms — for their role in the game’s outcome.
The Rams held a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter but allowed the Seahawks to mount a comeback, culminating in a touchdown by Jaxon Smith-Njigba and a successful two-point conversion to Eric Saubert for the win.
The game, played at Lumen Field in Seattle, featured at least two controversial calls: an illegal man downfield penalty on Rams offensive lineman Justin Dedich that nullified a potential touchdown, which rules analyst Terry McAulay later said should not have been flagged. The second was this weird two-point conversation attempt.

Nacua’s post came just days after he appeared on a livestream with internet personalities Adin Ross and N3on, where he called NFL referees “the worst” and accused them of making calls to appear on television. Such public criticisms of officials typically result in fines from the league.
Despite the loss, Nacua had a strong performance, including a 58-yard reception that set up a scoring opportunity for the Rams. The defeat dropped Los Angeles to a position where they may lose the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
The Rams next face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, while the Seahawks improved their playoff positioning with the victory. Neither the team nor the NFL has immediately commented on Nacua’s remarks.
