According to sources who spoke with ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Baltimore Ravens have decided to sign free agent defensive end Trey Hendrickson in an expensive turnabout following the cancellation of their blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby.
According to Schefter, the parties reached a four-year, $112 million agreement that, with incentives, could be worth up to $120 million. According to insiders who spoke to Schefter, the deal includes a $20 million signing bonus in addition to $60 million fully guaranteed.
Less than a day after Baltimore pulled out of its trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Crosby, the move gives the Ravens a much-needed star pass rusher and keeps Hendrickson, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Cincinnati Bengals, in the AFC North.
The Ravens had medical issues that surfaced during Crosby’s exam, league sources told ESPN. Trades are not official until the new league year begins on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, and they are dependent on players passing a physical.
Crosby had surgery in January to fix his left knee’s damaged meniscus. Despite knowing that he would require surgery in the fall, Crosby played until the Raiders opted to bench him for the final two games of the previous season, which infuriated him.
