Nothing good has ever started with “So I texted my ex at 5 AM…” Enter Alix Earle, who decided to share one of her more relatable life moments. And by relatable, we mean the kind of story that makes you laugh, cringe, and immediately check your own message history.
According to Alix, one of the most awkward things she’s ever done was drunk texting her ex-boyfriend at 5 in the morning. Not midnight, not 2 AM. Five. As in, birds are chirping, the sun is thinking about rising, and you’re out here typing emotional paragraphs.
Now, she didn’t exactly drop names, but the internet did what it always does and started connecting dots like it’s a full-time job. And guess who popped up in the speculation? None other than Braxton Berrios.
Was it him? Nobody knows for sure. But that hasn’t stopped people from turning this into a full-blown investigation.
When asked about the last bad idea she had, Earle admitted, “Oh my gosh, probably texting my ex at like five in the morning after going out, not the best idea. And you know what, it was really sweet. I was on the floor. I had a few drinks and I was like, looking with one eye at the phone and my sister’s like, if you’re gonna send this, at least send it with it all spelled correctly. So she’s helping me like check all the spelling on everything and I’m like, this is so great. I was like, sitting by the microwave waiting for my mac and cheese to get heated up. It was, you know, not the, not the best idea but I did it.”
Earle didn’t specify which ex she was speaking about during the interview, but she previously dated Braxton Berrios — an NFL player for the Houston Texans — for two years. In February, she opened up about seeing Berrios in person for the first time after their breakup at the Palm Tree Music Festival in Aspen, Colorado.
“It was honestly just really hard for me,” she admitted. “Really weird, really hard. I was really emotional. The first night we were like in the same place but we didn’t say hi to each other, just because I didn’t want to go up and annoy him, I don’t know, but I could see him out the corner of my eye.”
As for Braxton Berrios? He’s probably somewhere minding his business while the internet drags him into a story he may or may not even be part of.
