Anthony Edwards Has Been Hiding Money to Avoid Paying Child Support to Ayesha Howard

Ayesha Howard has accused NBA star Anthony Edwards of intentionally hiding business assets and connections in California to avoid paying child support in the state for their infant daughter, according to court documents filed this week.

Howard filed a request for an order in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, claiming newly discovered evidence shows the Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard has maintained a “substantial and ongoing business and financial presence” in California for about six years, documents obtained by Page Six show.

The filing alleges Edwards, 24, “deliberately concealed and misrepresented his California connections under oath” in earlier testimony when he argued the California court lacked personal jurisdiction over him because he had no personal or business ties to the state.

Howard, an Instagram model, is seeking to renew her original child support order in California. She contends the evidence satisfies the “minimum contact and purposeful availment doctrine” required for an out-of-state parent to face support obligations in the state.

Court records list Edwards’ alleged California ties as including a business LLC, registered trademarks, business infrastructure and operational activities in the state, a bank account in Beverly Hills, and current and prior contracts with California-based sports representatives.

The dispute stems from a jurisdictional battle over support for the couple’s daughter, Aubri’, born in October 2024. Edwards filed a petition for paternity and child support in Georgia in September 2024. Howard later asked that the case be heard in California.

A California judge ruled in March 2025 that the state lacked jurisdiction to set child support, a decision Howard has appealed. Edwards has not publicly commented on the latest filing.

Howard and Edwards spent time together in various cities while he played for the Timberwolves and during his off-season, according to prior court documents. Howard has said she learned she was pregnant in January 2024 and that Edwards was not pleased, blocked further communication and urged her to terminate the pregnancy.

Edwards, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Georgia, is an Olympic gold medalist. He shares a daughter, Aislynn, born in March 2024, with girlfriend Shannon Jackson. He has not publicly acknowledged paternity of two other children: a 2-year-old daughter with Daja Carlyle and a 2-year-old son with Alexandria Desroches.

The latest filing marks another chapter in a contentious case that has included earlier reports of Howard seeking a $500,000 lump-sum payment and a public apology from Edwards as part of custody and support negotiations. Howard has denied receiving any reported multimillion-dollar upfront child support payment and has maintained she remains without court-ordered support.

No hearing date has been set on the new request. Edwards’ representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
