Dallas Stars Ban Fan From American Airlines Center Over Nazi Salute

The Dallas Stars have officially banned a fan from the American Airlines Center after he decided, of all possible choices, to throw up a Nazi salute during a game. Yes, in 2026, in public at a hockey game. Bold is one word for it.

Let’s break this down. Thousands of people are at the arena, just trying to enjoy a game. Snacks are expensive, drinks are overpriced. Everyone is focused on the ice. And then one fan wakes up and chooses chaos. Not just regular chaos, historically bad decision chaos.

Security, as you can imagine, did not find this entertaining at all.

A spokesperson for the Stars told The Dallas Morning News that they identified the individual who “purchased the tickets and will be banning the individual indefinitely from American Airlines Center.”

“Any type of discriminatory or hateful behavior will not be tolerated and has no place in our arena. Creating and sustaining environments that are inclusive, safe and respectful is a non-negotiable for the Dallas Stars.”

The video began circulating online shortly after a game in December — showing a group of at least five male fans giving the salute from their seats. Fans online were quick to call the group out, and the arena said it launched an investigation into the matter after it went viral.

It’s unclear which fan was actually hit with the ban, or whether the rest of the group will also face punishment.

At the end of the day, sports are supposed to be fun, cheering, booing and celebrating. Not whatever that was.

Moral of the story? If you’re going to a game, stick to normal fan behavior. Wear your jersey, yell at the referee or overpay for nachos, but maybe, just maybe, leave the offensive gestures at home.
