New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and NFL insider Dianna Russini rented a private boat for two to three hours on a Tennessee lake in June 2021 while Russini was pregnant with her first child, according to documents obtained by TMZ Sports.
The pair were the only people aboard the vessel on the lake in Putnam County, Tenn., the records show. Both signed a company waiver before departing, TMZ reported Wednesday. A source with direct knowledge told the outlet that Russini declined to pose for photos with staff, while Vrabel agreed to one picture but asked that it not be posted publicly.
Russini gave birth to a son later that summer. She has been married to Kevin Goldschmidt since 2020 and has two children.
Vrabel has been married to his wife, Jen, since 1999. The couple have two children.
The boat rental is the latest detail to surface in a months-long scandal involving the two. In April 2026, photos emerged of Vrabel and Russini appearing cozy at an Arizona boutique resort. Russini resigned from her position at The Athletic shortly afterward. Vrabel, who was hired by the Patriots in 2025 after being fired by the Tennessee Titans in 2024, addressed the situation at the time, saying he had “difficult conversations” with his family and team and vowed to “be a better person.”
TMZ Sports previously reported photos of the pair kissing at a bar in 2020 and gambling together at a Mississippi casino in 2024.
Neither Vrabel nor Russini responded to TMZ’s requests for comment on the boat rental. Russini has been largely silent on social media since her resignation.
The story first gained attention after Vrabel and Russini were trolled on ESPN’s “Inside the NBA” in early May 2026 with a “Titanic”-themed graphic referencing their reported outings.
Vrabel is entering his second season with the Patriots. Russini previously worked as an NFL reporter for ESPN.
