It’s time for Jaime Jaquez Jr. for a new adventure. Jaquez is immediately impacted by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s incredible trade from the Milwaukee to the Miami Heat, as the former star of the UCLA Bruins is involved in that historic deal.
As the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player begins a new chapter in his illustrious basketball career, Jaquez, Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis, and their first-round picks are headed to Milwaukee.
Since joining the league in 2023, Jaquez has only ever played on the court with the Heat. He was chosen by Miami in the first round that year, 18th overall.
Since then, he has grown into a reliable member of Miami’s supporting cast, even placing second in the voting for the 2025–26 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, which was won by forward Keldon Johnson of the San Antonio Spurs.

Jaquez can be seen at the gym and staring at someone’s phone in a video that has gone popular on social media. It appears that he was informed in real time about the Heat and Bucks’ blockbuster trade.
In his three seasons as a Miami player, Jaquez has grown to be somewhat of a fan favorite in South Beach, but Heat fans probably appreciate the return their club received with Antetokounmpo now leading the squad.
Jaquez is shooting 49.1 percent from the field while averaging 12.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists thus far in his NBA career. With the loss of Bobby Portis and Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee has a large void that he should be able to fill.
