Former Love Island heartthrob Montel McKenzie has put a ring on it after proposing to Leicester City star Alisha Lehmann during a dreamy beach getaway. And yes, it was exactly the kind of proposal social media was invented for.
Alisha, often dubbed the world’s sexiest footballer, reportedly had no idea what was coming. One minute she was enjoying a romantic holiday by the ocean, probably thinking about sunsets and cocktails, the next minute, Montel was down on one knee turning the beach into his own personal movie set.
Swiss-bornstriker Alisha, 27, shared photos of the romantic moment on Instagram today, along with the caption: “Forever & Always [heart emoji].”
Looking glamorous in a black mini dress, the blonde footballer brought her hands to her face as Montel, 28, asked her to be his wife. They celebrated with a warm hug and were pictured admiring Alisha’s new ring.
A raft of Love Island stars commented, with Nas Majeed writing: “My favourites [heart] congratulations.”
Biggs Chris said: “Jheeez congrats my guy.”
Tyrique Hyde posted: “Congrats bro.”
Posing side by side, Montel left a lock and key emoji hinting he was going to pop the question. However, a rep for the paid denied they were engaged at the time.
Now fans are already asking the important questions. When’s the wedding? Where will it be? And how many Instagram posts will come from it?
One thing is certain: Montel’s beach proposal was a success. Alisha said yes, the ring is secure, and somewhere wedding planners are rubbing their hands together knowing this celebration is going to be anything but small.
