The new Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer was finally released by Sony Pictures this week, and at a press conference, actors Tom Holland and Zendaya spoke to a number of media outlets to promote the film.
Zendaya (MJ) was asked how fans could be ready for the film during an interview with Q Music.
“I would say watch all of our previous Spider-Man [movies] just to keep you caught up, and then bring some tissues… we go there.”
Tom Holland on potentially returning as Spider-Man in ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ and ‘SECRET WARS’
“I have a reputation for spoiling certain things, and I think the studios are keeping me from the juicy details. I’m very excited about whatever it is that they do.”

Zendaya’s remarks appear to suggest that we will lose at least one major character in Brand New Day, while there are other options (dramatic sequences don’t usually revolve around death).
There’s a rumor (or perhaps more accurately, conjecture) that Peter Parker will die at the end of the film, only to be revived in Avengers: Secret Wars along with a number of other heroes.
We still don’t know for sure whether Spider-Man will make an appearance in Secret Wars or Doomsday (the latter looks improbable), and when CineMania approached Holland about his possible comeback, he wasn’t going to reveal anything.
“I don’t know much about those movies. By nature, I have a reputation for spoiling certain things, and the studio is keeping the juicy details from me, but I’m very curious. What does that mean for Peter? How does that work? I think it’s really cool. I’m very excited.”
“I think I hung up and said to Zendaya, ‘Downey’s back.’ Yes, he just called me. In fact, I caught up with him on the phone a couple of days ago. We usually catch up from time to time. He got in touch and just told me. And it’s very exciting.”
Holland also disclosed that he was among the first to learn that Robert Downey Jr. would be making a comeback to the MCU as Doctor Doom.
