Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards scored a clear victory Tuesday in his long-running child support battle with Ayesha Howard, the mother of his 1-year-old daughter and the former partner of rapper Lil Baby.
A Georgia judge ordered the All-Star guard to pay $3,222 per month in child support, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The ruling came after Howard failed to appear for the trial and presented no evidence to support her claims.
Edwards, who signed a five-year, more than $200 million contract extension with the Timberwolves in 2023, has already paid a total of $110,000 in support. He made an initial $20,000 payment in January 2025, followed by $5,000 monthly payments leading up to the trial. Howard’s monthly income was listed as zero in the filings.
The case centered on a jurisdictional fight between California and Georgia. Howard filed for child support in Los Angeles, while Edwards filed in Georgia. He argued that Howard had no meaningful ties to California and that she chose the venue in an effort to secure a higher support award. His legal team also accused her of dragging out the proceedings and asked the court to block further motions in the California case.
The Georgia judge sided with Edwards, establishing jurisdiction in his home state and setting the monthly support figure. The outcome ends a contentious chapter that has played out publicly for nearly two years.
Howard, known on social media as Little Ms. Golden, shares a son named Jason with Lil Baby. She and Edwards welcomed their daughter, Aubri Summers, in October 2024. Paternity was confirmed through DNA testing after Edwards filed a petition in Georgia seeking to establish parentage and support obligations.
The dispute previously featured accusations from Howard that Edwards concealed California-based assets, including business interests and a Beverly Hills bank account, to avoid jurisdiction in that state. Edwards’ side countered that Howard orchestrated media pressure in an attempt to force a larger settlement, including claims she sought a $500,000 lump sum, lifetime support, and a public apology.
With the Georgia court now setting the terms and Howard’s no-show at trial, Edwards has locked in a defined monthly obligation far below the figures that can result from California’s child support guidelines for high-earning athletes.
The Timberwolves guard continues to focus on basketball as one of the NBA’s rising stars, while the legal resolution provides clarity on his financial responsibilities for his daughter.
