The NBA season may take breaks, but NBA drama? Never. It works overtime. The latest episode features Draymond Green, Stephen A. Smith, and Jaylen Brown in what feels less like a basketball debate and more like an episode of The Real Housewives of ESPN.
The feud between Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. has been simmering for sometime now. At first, it was basketball talk. You know, normal things like jump shots, defense, and playoff performances. Then somehow it evolved into arguments about anonymous sources, media ethics, and who said what to who behind closed doors.
Basically, it became basketball’s version of a courtroom drama.
Stephen A. recently fired more shots at Brown, and Draymond decided he had seen enough. The Warriors star jumped into the discussion and accused the First Take host of acting like “a mob boss.”
Draymond responds to Stephen A for the last time 👀
"A lot of players having a relationship with you were facts, I supported you too until you started to disrespect players as if you were a player… so when people say your name, it's gonna happen, I'm here to tell you it's… pic.twitter.com/ndOhWXmWWi

Somewhere, a Hollywood producer is probably already writing the script.
During an appearance at the Cannes Lions festival in France, Brown had a few comments about Stephen A. and his reporting style. He called ESPN ‘unethical’ and described Smith as the face of that problem.
It did not take long for SAS to respond as he posted a video titled, “Enough Is Enough! Jaylen Brown, I Accept Your Challenge.” There, he accused Brown of questioning his integrity and challenged him to appear on his show.
Green believes that is where Stephen A. changed the whole dynamic of the conversation.
“The problem I had with Stephen A. and Jaylen Brown was – you called him out like a mob boss. When you sat in front of the camera and spoke as if you saw him, you was going to do something to him.” Green said.
Jaylen Brown is probably wondering how a conversation about basketball somehow turned into debates over journalism ethics and secret sources.
Welcome to the NBA media cycle, Jaylen.
One minute you’re discussing pick-and-roll defense, the next minute you’re starring in an argument involving media credibility, anonymous insiders, and comparisons to organized crime leaders.
At this point, the only thing missing is dramatic violin music and someone flipping over a restaurant table.
NBA basketball truly never sleeps!
