Floyd Mayweather is back in the headlines again. And no, it is not because someone finally managed to land a clean punch on him in retirement.
This time, the undefeated boxing legend is calling out what he sees as a familiar storyline. According to him, some media outlets especially TMZ are pushing a narrative that he is broke. Yes, broke. That word does not usually sit well next to a man known for counting money like it is a competitive sport.
Mayweather made his comments during an interview with Cam’ron on “It Is What It Is.” The conversation started simple enough. Cam’ron asked whether Floyd’s recent exhibition fights and business appearances were about money or just staying active in the sport.
Floyd did not hesitate. He shut the idea down fast. According to him, there is no financial emergency, no hidden crisis, and definitely no sad bank account story waiting for a documentary.

Instead, he suggested that if people actually saw everything he owns, they would be shocked. And knowing Floyd Mayweather, that statement comes with confidence levels that could knock out most Wi-Fi signals.
“Nobody has taken none of my properties away from me,” he said. “I still got all my houses, I still got everything.”
“My mother, my whole family, their bills are still paid. Still pay all my employees,” he said.
Mayweather also reflected on the support he’s received throughout his career, saying fans have long invested in him because of his consistency inside the ring.
“The Black community have been paying money for years to come see me fight,” he said. “You bet it on Floyd ’cause I prove that I’m 100% when I get in that ring… They believe in me.”
However, he argued that despite his success, many people hope to see him fail.
“After they go home, and they got everything they won, they’re praying on my downfall,” Mayweather said. “We don’t want to see Floyd win nothing.”
Mayweather also opened up about the lawsuits on his shoulders.
“It’s this lawsuit, it’s that lawsuit,” he said. “I get myself out of the situation… It’s not me. I’m the biggest name. Who they gon’ point the finger at?”
“I ain’t got social media on my phone,” he said. “I’m too focused on building generational wealth.”
He closed the discussion with a simple message for anyone questioning his financial health.
“At the end of the day, I’m good.”
In his world, the math is simple. Winning fights, winning business, and definitely not losing sleep over rumors.
