Burglars carried out a home invasion at the residence of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley early Saturday morning while he and his family were inside, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and Tredyffrin Township police.
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. at Barkley’s home in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township. Police said one suspect entered the residence. Multiple suspects and more than one vehicle were believed to be involved.
Barkley and his family were home at the time. No one was injured. Capt. Tyler Moyer of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department said all occupants were physically unharmed, though “obviously a little unsettled as anybody would be.”
Investigators believe nothing was taken from the home. The suspects fled before officers arrived on the scene.
Police released a photo of a white SUV that may have been involved in the incident but said it was not the only vehicle. Moyer noted that authorities are still determining exactly how many vehicles and people took part.
The Chester County District Attorney’s Office issued a statement expressing relief that the family was unharmed.
“We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident,” the DA’s office said. “We are asking the public to help us identify those responsible by checking any home security cameras for suspicious activity in the area around 5:00 a.m. If you saw anything unusual or have video that may assist investigators, please contact the Tredyffrin Township Police Department immediately.”

Police said they are examining whether the break-in is connected to a series of burglaries targeting professional athletes’ homes across the country in recent years. Investigators are working with federal and other law enforcement agencies as part of that review.
No arrests had been announced as of Sunday morning. The investigation remained active and developing.
Barkley, who joined the Eagles in 2024 after six seasons with the New York Giants, purchased the Malvern property in 2025.
