Shadaira Harris robbed a Wendy’s in Dover, Delaware, and then returned to the same restaurant because she forgot one of her AirPods.
Yes, you read that correctly. The alleged robbery was not enough drama for one visit. She apparently needed a second trip.
According to police, Harris and a juvenile were involved in an incident at the fast-food restaurant after complaining about an order. Things allegedly got heated.
Police say the pair stole $15 from the register and assaulted a Wendy’s employee during the chaos. The whole thing could have ended there. The suspects could have walked away and never looked back.
But then came the AirPod. Apparently, Harris realized she had left one behind during the altercation. And instead of accepting the loss, she returned to Wendy’s to retrieve it.
During the incident, police claim, Harris went behind the service counter at the restaurant, entered an employee-only area and removed about $15 from a cash register.
As she stole from the register, officials claim, Harris assaulted an employee that was attempting to stop the theft.
Harris, officials said, punched a woman who worked at the Wendy’s “multiple times in the chest,” before she threw money she had stolen from the register out of a drive-thru window.
Outside the restaurant, the money was collected by a boy who had traveled to the Wendy’s with Harris, police said.
Of course, an arrest is not a conviction. Harris is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The story offers one very unusual lesson: If you rob a fast-food restaurant, maybe leave the AirPod behind.
Actually, better yet, just leave the restaurant alone.
That $15 may have been expensive, but the AirPod comeback could prove to be the costliest part of the entire trip.
