Coach Prime is officially entering the video game world.
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has been added to EA Sports College Football 27, according to a release on Monday. The update is scheduled to arrive Tuesday, giving players a chance to download the latest version and finally put Coach Prime to work in the digital world.
Apparently, coaching real college football was not enough.

Now Sanders can also be controlled by someone sitting on a couch, eating snacks, and yelling at the television.
“Coach Prime is in the game,” the release from the video game said. “Do it for U by calling the shots in Boulder with Deion Sanders. New coaches, new mascots and gameplay updates arrive Tuesday.”
Despite those good vibes, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum is sad over Sanders and Colorado following the Buffaloes’ loss Saturday night at Northwestern. Colorado suffered their first one of the season, falling 41-7 to the Wildcats and looking completely overmatched.
That sounds about right. The addition of Sanders gives fans another reason to jump into the game.
“Yeah, I’m sad because I don’t certainly root against Northwestern or everybody’s fuzzy little teddy bear, but I just have started really pulling for for Deion once he got sick, and his career just continues to spiral,” Finebaum said on The Matt Barrie Show. “And it’s so it’s just much different with between with him and Dabo and Belichick because Deion is is a guy that is so electric …
“And I just don’t know where he goes from here because what was it three years ago? I mean, he was literally at the epicenter of sports, not only college football, and now a lot of people listening on Sunday are going, ‘I didn’t even realize that happened,’ because it just doesn’t matter anymore.”
They will immediately grab Sanders, load up Colorado, and start making ridiculous moves.
Why build a program slowly when you can pretend you have unlimited recruiting powers?
Why worry about realistic decisions when you can turn every Saturday into a personal highlight reel?
That is the beauty of video games.
Colorado hits Big 12 play next week against Baylor on the road before having to return home against a ranked Texas Tech team. Perhaps Week 4 could be considered a must-win game for Sanders and crew.
“I’m going to try my best to explain everything that I need to explain to you in the most polite manner I can at this point,” Sanders said postgame. “Turnovers were (the problem) today. And we have to convert. We didn’t play the type of offensive and defensive football that we’re capable of playing … We’ll get it right. I promise you.”
Sanders being added to College Football 27 should only make that more entertaining.
Coach Prime has conquered football fields, television screens, recruiting rooms, and social media.
Now he is coming for the gaming console.
